Shadow - 4 Week Adult Obedience Program

We worked with Town and Country K9 this summer, and it was by far the best decision we have ever made as dog owners. We worked with Jake, and he was incredible. We have a German Shepherd named Shadow whom we rescued in February. She is between two and three. We reached out to Town and Country K9 in June because she could not ride in a car without screaming (not barking, screaming!), she was incredibly reactive on her leash, and because we needed help managing her separation anxiety. The team at Town and Country K9 responded to our inquiry right away, and we knew from our first conversation that we were going to be in great hands with Jake. We signed Shadow up for the three-week program, and she ended up staying for six weeks (four weeks in the program and two weeks of boarding). Jake was the best. He communicated with us daily with photos and updates, often sending us videos that were super informative and gave us insight into the methods behind his training. It was clear that Shadow loved being with him, felt safe with him and trusted him, and that in turn meant the world to us. Since Shadow has been home, she is still her same sweet affectionate self, but is a completely different dog in terms of the challenges we experienced before. She is much more comfortable in the car, she has good leash habits, and the training Jake did with her has given her the confidence to move through the world as her best self! Not only has Shadow benefitted from her time with Jake, but my wife and I have grown tremendously as dog owners. On the day Shadow came home, Jake spent over six hours with us, talking us through the philosophy behind his approach to training, helping us work with Shadow on her leash and guiding us to give commands and corrections effectively, and even coming with us to the house we were about to move into to offer suggestions for where to set up Shadow's crate. Shadow has been home for over a month now and we still text with Jake regularly to ask questions about how to best take care of Shadow. Town and Country K9 is worth every penny, and we will be forever grateful to Jake for his amazing work with Shadow and with us.
